Initial Roadmap


2022 edit: I wrote this roadmap just before the pandemic hit. I was high on Frozen 2, wanted to "Show Myself" and stuff, I wrote this roadmap to psyke myself up, and then the world changed.  Without any further ado, these were my predictions for my game, Gravity Break, as envisioned in January 2020

2020 Roadmap

There is a long road ahead of me, and I am not sure where it leads. I need your help to make decisions along the way, but so far, this is the path I am looking at:

Short term: Main features

(now ---> Q2 2020)

  • Seek salvage in derelict ghost wrecks to improve your chances of a highscore.
  • Improve onboarding.
  • Based on feedback, decide if I should rethink the project or keep going (~Q3 2020)

Medium term: Experimental development

(~Q42020 ---> 2021)

  • Explore and exploit an evolving political landscape.
  • Combat
  • Customize your ship
  • Trading, economy, exploration
  • Gather a crew to withstand any hardships you may encounter.
  • Play with gravity and exotic technology
  • Story and visuals, setting a tone for the world

Long term: Fuzzy dreams (2022+ ---> ?)

  • Exterminate pirates, politicians and planets.
  • Build a ship to change the course of history before something terrible happens.
  • ??? Input needed ???

There you have it. My goals for 2022 didn't happen at all.
But some things didn't change. Everything is still on fire and the planet is becoming dangerous for people to live on. I think my game is as relevant as ever, and maybe I'm ready to start working on it for real.
